Without it, I don't know what use I would have been to Aang and the others back home. Sure, Sokka doesn't have bending either, but he's a really good warrior otherwise. And he can be pretty smart when it comes to battle tactics and inventions-- but what about me? Would I have just been in the way during our travels? Or maybe I wouldn't even have gone along in the first place.
